Ezequiel Schelotto is desperate to move to the Premier League, but admits clubs have so far been talkers rather than doers when it comes to capturing his signature.

The Italy international midfielder officially terminated his contract with Serie A giants Inter before the summer transfer window slammed shut and as a result is free to move outside the transfer window system.

Schelotto has fielded enquiries from a number of sides, who spy an opportunity to reinforce their squad after the closure of the transfer window.

But the man who was linked with Southampton last year and more recently Nottingham Forest, has a clear idea of his preference.

"The Premier League [is my preference]", he told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

"It is a dream of mine to be able to compete in the most important league in the world", the former Inter man added.

Schelotto admits that at present things are difficult for him as he expected to have signed for a club by now. However, he is staying in shape by working with a personal trainer ahead of his return to the game.

He explained: "It's a difficult situation that I'm going through.

"By late September I expected to have already found a team and instead there are many clubs who have only come forward in words and not deeds."

Schelotto counts Cesena, Atalanta and Parma amongst his former clubs, while he was also capped by Italy at Under-21 level before winning his only senior cap to date in 2012.
