Leeds United have not taken up their full allocation for Sunday's Championship match away at Middlesbrough.

Boro announced an allocation of 2,800 tickets for Leeds at the Riverside Stadium, but the Whites have sold less than their allocation and as a result the north east club are opening further areas of the South Stand to their own supporters.

Currently Middlesbrough have sold 25,000 tickets for the fixture and are hoping to push their sales up before the match, which kicks off at 1:15pm on Sunday.

Boro boss Aitor Karanka is desperate for as many of the club's fans to be at the game as possible, as he believes it will give his side a big advantage over Uwe Rosler's men.

The former Real Madrid assistant told his club's site: "When we beat Brentford, they [the crowd] won the game for us.

"When the team was not in a good moment the fans supported us and that was the energy and support that we needed.

"So for this reason the more people that are in the stadium, the easier it is for us. So always all of them are more than welcome to come", the Spaniard added.

Middlesbrough currently sit second in the Championship standings having collected 17 points from their opening eight matches.

Leeds meanwhile, who have lost just once this term, are eleventh with eleven points from their eight matches.
