Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a setback as summer arrival Heung-Min Son has sustained a foot injury.

The forward landed at White Hart Lane earlier this summer and has enjoyed a great start to the season as he has netted three goals so far from his five appearances across all competitions.

The South Korea international started last weekend’s league game against Manchester City as the Lilywhites ran riot in a 4-1 win over the title contenders, but sustained a foot injury in the match.

A statement released on the Tottenham website confirmed that the forward has been under review for the past few days to ascertain the extent of his injury and a date for his return to training.

“Heung-Min Son sustained a foot injury in a challenge during Saturday's win against Manchester City and has spent the past few days being reviewed.

“Our medical staff will monitor his progress during his rehabilitation in order to determine when he will be fit to return to training.”

Son was previously at Bayer Leverkusen and went on to score 29 goals from his 87 matches for the German club.

He has started his career in the Premier League on a bright note and will be eager to return to action soon to continue his heroics for the north Londoners.
