Atletico Madrid forward and long-time Arsenal target Jackson Martinez has expressed his dissatisfaction with the way his life has started in the Spanish league as he struggles to find the back of the net with regularity.

Martinez was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium outfit while he was at FC Porto, but he finally moved to the Vicente Calderon earlier this summer as Atletico Madrid paid the release clause to take him to Madrid.

The forward has thus far scored only once from his first eight appearances in all competitions for Los Rojiblancos and has revealed that he is feeling frustrated at not being able to pay the fans and the coaching staff back for their support with goals.

“It is frustrating because I can feel the support I have from the fans, my team-mates and the coaching staff”, he was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Sport.

“I want to give my all so that things go well.”

The 28-year-old further added that he is determined to get back to his best as Diego Simeone’s side prepare to host Real Madrid at the Vicente Calderon this weekend.

“I will continue working so that in the next game, the Madrid derby [on Sunday], I can do better.”
