Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his team in their win over Sevilla last night, saying that it is a first step for his men as they attempt to discover how to play at the highest level.

Last season, the Old Lady won the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia and made it to the final of the Champions League, where they eventually finished runners-up to Catalan giants Barcelona in Berlin.

They saw several of the first team regulars, including Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez, leave the club in the summer. And welcomed some new arrivals in Paulo Dybala, Sami Khedira and Mario Mandzukic amongst others.

The new look Allegri’s side have endured a difficult start to the league campaign as they sit 15th in the league standings after a solitary win from their first six games.

However, they have registered successive wins over Manchester City and reigning Europa League winners Sevilla in the Champions League.

“We played well both defensively and technically”, he was quoted as saying by UEFA.

“We are a team who are still growing and we need to understand how to manage the key moments in a match.

“We played with great intensity for 25 minutes in the first half but we didn't score. In the second half we kept the ball well and we played a clever game.
