Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed his brother has talent when it comes to the game, but says he prefers to study rather than pursue a professional career.

Courtois is currently out with injury and only expected to be back in action in early December. He was recently spotted watching Belgium's volleyball team, for which his sister Valerie Courtois plays.

Thibaut is a firm fan of volleyball and loves to watch his sister in action whenever he has the chance, with his injury now having allowed him to attend games. He told RTBF: "It was a good game and it was a good win. It was great to see my sister play.

"I've followed the other matches on television, but now that I am injured I can come to the games after working with the physio during the day."

The Chelsea goalkeeper was asked how he can explain that in the same family there are two players who play for the Belgium national team in their respective sports.

And Thibaut was keen to mention his brother Gaetan, who he insists also has talent, but has chosen a different path.

"It is a question of talent, but also sacrifices", the custodian explained.

"When one is young, one can forget the small parties. It takes hard work, humility and keeping your feet on the ground.

"I have a brother who also has talent, but he prefers to study and play at a lower level."

Courtois spent his first season between the sticks for Chelsea last term, helping the Blues win both the Premier League and the League Cup.

Jose Mourinho's men are struggling in his absence and currently sit in the lower reaches of the Premier League table.
