Rangers manager Mark Warburton feels that eventually Scottish giants Celtic and the Gers will be plying their trade in the English league.

Warburton took charge of the Gers for the 2015/16 season after guiding Brentford of the English Championship into the promotion playoffs last term, and has enjoyed a phenomenal start to life in the Scottish Championship as his team sit top of the table having won all of their eight league matches so far.

Since Rangers were demoted to the lower divisions of the Scottish league due to off-field issues, Celtic have been the dominant force in the Premiership, having won the league title for the last four successive seasons.

The English Premier League is awash with money and signed a new TV deal recently, increasing the financial incentive for the teams playing in the league. Meanwhile, their northern counterparts have not enjoyed a financial boom.

And Warburton feels that the Scottish giants could soon be playing in the English leagues.
