Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer is bemused by his former club's abject surrender against Manchester City today.

The Magpies had shocked the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium by taking the lead in the Premier League fixture, but they were pegged back just before half time.

Manchester City started the second half quickly and scored an astonishing five goals in 13 minutes, making it 6-1.

Newcastle were crushed and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero had five goals to his name.

Shearer felt Newcastle gave a good account of themselves in the first half, but then a different side took to the pitch for the second period.
