Kevin De Bruyne has saluted five-goal hero Sergio Aguero, who tore apart Newcastle United today to lead Manchester City to a 6-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.

Newcastle stunned Manchester City in the 17th minute when Aleksandar Mitrovic nodded a header past Joe Hart to put the Magpies 1-0 up.

Manchester City were level before half time, making it 1-1 through Sergio Aguero, who headed a Fernandinho header into the back of the net.

It took only four minutes in the second period for the Citizens to pull ahead, again Aguero the scorer as he took advantage of a defensive mistake to strike.

One minute later and Aguero had his hat-trick with De Bruyne feeding the Argentine striker with a superb pass.

In the 53rd minute it was 4-1, with De Bruyne getting on the scoresheet with a superb volley.

And then Aguero had his fourth of the match on the hour mark as it was 5-1, with a delightfully accurate shot into the bottom corner of the net.

One minute after that he had his fifth, prodding the ball home from a De Bruyne pass.

It ended 6-1 and left De Bruyne purring at Aguero's finishing power. He was quoted as saying by the BBC: "Sergio Aguero can score goals out of nothing.

"It is great to have him in the team obviously.

"I am happy with the second half and how I played, not so much the first. It was a bit difficult, but then I just tried to play better", he added.
