West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic says he is happy to take a point from his side's trip to Sunderland in the Premier League today.

The Hammers went 2-0 down by the 22nd minute against the Black Cats, but then scored before half time to go in 2-1 behind at the break.

Sunderland then saw Jeremain Lens sent off in the second half and West Ham quickly levelled, but could not take an extra step to win the game and had to settle for a point.

Bilic admits he is conflicted about whether he is happy or not with the result, but overall believes the point is not a bad one.

"If you asked me yesterday would I take a point, I would never say I would take a point, we want three but we knew it would be a hard game", the Croatian told the BBC.

"Emotions are mixed, a point is a point is especially when we were 2-0 down, but if we look at the last 20 minutes I am disappointed we didn’t capitalise on it.

"But we are not greedy. It’s a good point for us", Bilic added.

West Ham now sit fifth in the Premier League standings with 14 points from eight games and are not next in action until after the international break.

Next up for the Hammers is a trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace on 17th October, before they then welcome Chelsea to Upton Park.
