Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has joked that Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is spamming his email inbox with repeated offers for forward Thomas Muller.

Manchester United reportedly made numerous attempts to persuade Bayern Munich to part ways with Muller over the summer transfer window.

But the German champions were firm in their stance that Muller would not leave the Allianz Arena and he stayed put at the club.

However, Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is still a firm fan of Muller and is desperate to take him to Old Trafford.

Rummenigge wants Woodward to hold off the bids and was quoted as saying by Sport Bild: "I told Woodward, that I can't switch of my Email-account, so he should stop sending offers for Thomas Muller."
