Arsenal great Thierry Henry has indicated that Theo Walcott should keep starting ahead of Olivier Giroud for the Gunners.

The England striker was again instrumental for the Gunners as a sublime first 20 minutes from Arsenal blew Manchester United away, which helped them to register a comfortable 3-0 win earlier today at the Emirates.

While he didn’t get onto the scoresheet himself, Walcott was a key part of their performance and did set-up Mesut Ozil’s goal, Arsenal’s second of the day.

The former Southampton man has been in fine form this season and has managed to edge Giroud out of the starting eleven with his consistent performances up front.

While Henry revealed that he is still not sure whether the England man is the first choice, he insisted that Walcott should keep his compatriot out of the team because of his recent performances.

When asked is Walcott ahead of Giroud in the pecking order at Arsenal, the former striker told Sky Sports: “You have to ask the boss [Arsene Wenger].

“But for me with what he has done today and how has been answering the call, he has to start.”

The 26-year-old has scored four goals in all competitions this season and should keep his place in the starting eleven when Arsenal visit Watford after the international break.
