Contact has been established between Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp's representatives, it has been claimed.

The Reds chose to sack Brendan Rodgers yesterday following their 1-1 draw away at Everton in the Merseyside derby and Klopp has instantly been installed as the favourite to take over at Anfield.




Klopp has been out of work since departing his post at German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season.

Now concrete steps have been taken by Liverpool to tempt Klopp to England.
 


According to ITV, Liverpool have now made contact with Klopp's representatives as they seek to officially open talks with the German.

Liverpool have also been linked with experienced Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, but it is unclear whether they have yet made contact with his representatives.

The Reds are thought to be keen to make an appointment before their next Premier League match, which is after the international break against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
