Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen has revealed that he has studied Italian legend Andrea Pirlo’s free-kicks and has tried to learn from the superlative skills of the midfielder.

Pirlo has been known for his prowess from dead ball situations and he has scored many an important goal from free-kicks.

Eriksen, who has been plying his trade at White Hart Lane since the summer of 2013 when he landed from Ajax Amsterdam and struck two exquisite free-kicks in yesterday’s draw against Swansea City, has said that he has seen a lot of Pirlo’s free-kicks.

"I've watched Pirlo taking free-kicks and he makes it look so easy”, the Spurs midfielder was quoted as saying by ITV.

"When he's there [over the ball] he knows what to do.”

However, he further added that every player has a different way of taking a free-kick and he thinks that he is succeeding in his style of taking set-pieces.

"But everybody has a different position of doing it. I know I have my own and it's working."

The midfielder recently returned from an injury and added that he couldn’t hone his dead ball skills while he was attempting a return to full fitness.

"I've done it for many years, but I haven't really done it since I was injured – I think my practice was in the game because we had a lot of free-kicks.

"But I know what feeling I have to step over the ball and score. I've always had a good shot and take free-kicks.

"At Ajax I only took them at the end of my time there, but at some point it turned after a lot of training and a bit of focusing."
