Liverpool's first choice to replace Brendan Rodgers is former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, it has been claimed.

Rodgers was shown the door at Anfield yesterday following Liverpool's 1-1 draw against rivals Everton. The decision to remove the Northern Irishman was swift and Rodgers had his contract terminated.

Speculation over who will replace Rodgers is rife, but according to the BBC, Liverpool have a clear idea of who they want to slip into the dugout.

The Reds are chasing Klopp, who has been out of work since leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season.

However, Liverpool do not yet have a deal in place with Klopp and are also considering Carlo Ancelotti if an agreement cannot be reached.
