Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry has blasted Liverpool's owners for using the club's brand without thinking even the least bit about the interests of the fans, while claiming they do not like football.

The Reds last won a trophy in 2012 when Kenny Daglish led the club to the League Cup. However, the Scot was sacked soon afterwards and replaced by Brendan Rodgers.

For Henry, Liverpool's performance under their American owners, Fenway Sports Group, has been below par. While speaking about his respect for the club, the 38-year-old insisted that Liverpool as a side have been "brilliant".

Henry though regrets the loss of ambition on the part of the Reds, which he believes has largely been due to the owners.

The laid back attitude that the Liverpool owners have shown is simply unacceptable from Henry's point of view as he believes that it is nothing less than an injustice for the fans and anyone who love the club.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry stated: "I want to go back to the owners. It seems to me that they don't really like football. It seems to me like they are kind of using the Liverpool brand.

"I have massive respect for Liverpool, the club is a brilliant club.

"I will go back to what Jamie [Carragher] said. It’s not a big team anymore.

"Those owners right now are using the Liverpool brand and I don’t think it is on for the fans and anyone that love Liverpool."
