Liverpool want to have Jurgen Klopp appointed as their new manager by the end of this week.

The Reds are in talks with Klopp about him succeeding Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, after the Northern Irishman had his contract terminated by the club on Sunday.

Rodgers paid the dearest price for recording only one top four finish for Liverpool in three seasons, along with starting the current campaign in an underwhelming fashion.

Klopp has already signalled he is keen on the job and according to the BBC, Liverpool want him in place by Friday.

The Reds are keen that any new manager has time to prepare for Liverpool's visit to Tottenham Hotspur after the international break on 17th October.
