Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo will be rested when the time is right, adding that the Portuguese buys into his philosophy and there are no issues between the two.

Benitez took charge of the Madrid giants for the 2015/16 season following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti from the helm and his team remain unbeaten from their nine competitive games so far this season.

The former Liverpool boss has a knack of rotating players and he has often been asked if he will also be resting Ronaldo, who plays all the games for Los Blancos, during the course of the season.

And Benitez termed the phrase “untouchable Ronaldo” a misnomer, adding that the forward will have a break at a time that will be conducive for the side.

“This is another misnomer”, the manager said on talkshow El Larguero on the Cadena SER network.
