Former Germany captain Oliver Kahn feels managing in England would be a logical career step for former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp has been out of work since stepping down from his post at BVB at the end of last season and is being courted by Liverpool at the moment to become their next manager.

The Reds sacked Brendan Rodgers on Sunday evening and the 48-year-old German is said to be their preferred choice to fill the vacant managerial post at Anfield.

Klopp is a two-time Bundesliga champion and even led Dortmund to the Champions League final a few seasons ago, where they lost to Bayern Munich in the final at Wembley.

Kahn has no doubts about his compatriot’s quality as a manager and can definitely picture the former Dortmund boss taking over the reins at Anfield.

The former Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper also feels managing England is also the right career move for Klopp, who should be feeling refreshed after a sabbatical.

When asked about rumours of Klopp joining Liverpool, Kahn told German broadcaster Sport1: “I can definitely see it happening.

“There are absolutely no reservations at all in terms of his expertise.

“England would be the right next step for Klopp, also in terms of his personal development.”

Liverpool are keen to convince Klopp to take over soon and want to announce his appointment by the end of this week.

The Reds’ next game is an away trip to Tottenham on Saturday, 17th October.
