In a further signal that Liverpool are to appoint Jurgen Klopp, the only other key contender for the manager's job, Carlo Ancelotti, has explained he will not break his sabbatical.

Ancelotti has also been linked with succeeding Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, following the Blues' poor start to the current campaign.

Their poor form has increased the heat on Mourinho, however, he recently received support from the Chelsea hierarchy.

Ancelotti, who was in charge of the Stamford Bridge outfit from 2009 until 2011 and won a double of the league title and the FA Cup in 2010, feels that the Portuguese will hold on to his job as Chelsea do not intend to remove him.

The Italian is on a sabbatical from management after getting the sack from Real Madrid at the end of the last season and he has revealed that he has no intention of cutting it short, despite also being linked with Liverpool.
