Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez has lauded Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho, but added that the Catalans are also keeping an eye on other players with a view to signing them.

Coutinho has been plying his trade with the Anfield outfit since the summer of 2013 and has gone on to become one of the favourites with the club faithful courtesy of his displays.




The midfielder, who is good friends with Barcelona star Neymar, has been linked with a move to the Camp Nou outfit, while the Brazil national team captain has also spoken about his desire to play with his compatriot for the Blaugrana.

Fernandez has praised the 23-year-old, adding that the Catalans are looking at other players as well with a view to bringing them to Catalonia.
 


"He's a great player with fantastic attributes, but we're also keeping an eye on other players", the sporting director told Cadena SER in an interview.

Coutinho has gone on to play over a 100 games for the Merseyside giants, scoring 17 times and providing 23 assists for his team-mates.

He has also been capped 12 times for the Brazil national team and has a solitary goal to show for his efforts.
