Liverpool have announced that academy midfielder Trent Alexander-Arnold has penned his first professional contract at the club.

The 17-year-old, who celebrates his birthday today, has quickly committed his future to the Reds by putting pen to paper on a contract at Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold is the captain of Liverpool's Under-18 side and operates primarily as a midfielder.

However, the youngster is also able to play in the right-back role, further adding to his versatility.

Alexander-Arnold has already had a taste of life in the senior side and clocked his senior debut earlier this summer during a pre-season friendly against Swindon Town.
