Liverpool have officially confirmed former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp as their new manager.

The 48-year-old, who led Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles, along with guiding the Ruhr outfit to the final of the Champions League, succeeds Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.

Liverpool moved swiftly to secure Klopp's services when they showed Rodgers the door on Sunday evening after the Merseyside derby.

And the German, who it is claimed has long been a Liverpool fan, enthusiastically received their approach. Liverpool will present Klopp at a press conference tomorrow morning.

He takes over a side sitting tenth in the Premier League with 12 points from eight games.
