Agent Federico Pastorello has claimed that Chelsea have agreed to sign goalkeeper Marco Amelia.

The custodian has been training with the Blues in an effort to prove he is the goalkeeping backup option boss Jose Mourinho is searching for.

And the 33-year-old former AC Milan goalkeeper has convinced the Blues to sanction a deal, something which caused Pastorello to head to dinner with his client to celebrate.

The agent took to Instagram to post a photograph of himself with Amelia.

Chelsea have been looking to bring in another experienced goalkeeper after losing number 1 Thibaut Courtois to injury; the Belgian is only expected to be fit to return to action in December.

Amelia parted ways with AC Milan last year and spent time at Perugia last term, despite not making a single first team appearance for the club.

The 33-year-old will be quickly looking to push Asmir Begovic for the starting spot between the sticks at Chelsea, who have struggled so far this season.
