Tottenham Hotspur are tracking Gent forward Laurent Depoitre, a player they are growing increasingly keen on.

The 26-year-old only joined Gent last year, but has already settled at his new club and begun to turn on the style.

His exploits in the Belgian top flight have caused Spurs to regularly send scouts to take in Gent's matches, according to Het Laatse Nieuws.

The 26-year-old has made nine appearances for Gent so far this season, scoring four goals in the process.

In total, since signing for Gent, Depoitre has made 49 appearances and scored 18 goals, along with chipping in with nine assists for his team-mates.

Spurs are in the market to add to their attacking options and failed with a bid to sign Saido Berahino from West Brom in the summer transfer window.

Depoitre may be hoping to impress the White Hart Lane outfit enough to cause them to make a move for his signature when the window swings back open again in the new year.
