Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp believes that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is in very unfamiliar territory at the moment and his side might find it difficult to make the top four this campaign.

Chelsea won a double of the league title and the League Cup last season, but they have found it hard to replicate the same form this term as they sit 16th in the league standings after the conclusion of the first eight rounds of the competition, ceding considerable ground to their fellow title rivals.

Mourinho has won league titles across four countries – Portugal, England, Italy and Spain – and has also led his sides to two Champions League triumphs.

But Redknapp, who was in charge of Queens Park Rangers before he resigned, feels that the current situation is very difficult for the Portuguese and he must be finding it difficult to cope with it.

“He has never coped with that before”, Redknapp said on social network Kicca.

“It must be very strange for him. It's not easy, I am sure he is finding it very difficult.

“But they are not good, they are not playing well.

“There’s something wrong there.

"Something's not right within the club at the moment that's for sure.”

Redknapp predicted that the Blues are in for a poor reason, and might finish outside of the top four come the season’s end.

“I think it will be a poor season, I can't see them [making the top four], they might make the top four.

“Don’t forget a few years ago, when they won the Champions League, they finished, where did they finish? Sixth? Fifth? Sixth?

"And they went out to win the Champions League, but I can see another fifth or sixth season coming up.”
