Jurgen Klopp feels Liverpool are the perfect next step in his career and he is looking forward to the challenge of managing a ‘special club’.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss was appointed the new manager of Liverpool yesterday, replacing Brendan Rodgers who was sacked last Sunday following the Merseyside derby.




The Liverpool supporters are excited about seeing the 48-year-old German managing their club and Klopp himself is ready for the challenge of managing the Reds.

He admits becoming Liverpool manager is one of the biggest honours of his career and while he feels he has not arrived at the club at the perfect moment, he is excited about the challenge of reviving the great institution.
 


“It is the biggest honour to be here”, the German said in a press conference.

“It is one of the biggest clubs in the world and I will try to help in a situation which is not too difficult but it is not perfect and I am here for the challenge.”

He revealed that Liverpool’s passion for football attracted him and feels that after stints in Germany, the Merseyside club are the best step forward in his career.

“The intensity of the football; it is not a normal or usual club. It’s a special club. I had two special clubs in Mainz and Dortmund and this is the perfect next step.”

Klopp won two Bundesliga titles at the Westfalenstadion and even led his Dortmund side to the Champions League final, where they lost to Bayern Munich at Wembley in 2013.
