Former Liverpool striker David Fairclough feels that a club of the Reds stature is the perfect fit for a charismatic manager like Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds announced the appointment of the former Borussia Dortmund boss as their new manager, yesterday, on a three-year deal.

The club swiftly moved to secure the services of the 48-year-old German coach, following the departure of Brendan Rodgers from Anfield following last Sunday’s Merseyside derby.

Fairclough is excited about the appointment of Klopp and feels the former BVB coach’s charismatic character coupled with his ability to build teams will have a huge effect on Liverpool.

The former Red feels that the Liverpool players will love playing under the German's management because of the relationship he can build with them.

“He is a manager who has united a lot of people around Europe”, Fairclough told LFC TV.

“Everybody is excited by his charisma, his attitude, his style of management. He is very much a fans’ manager but you know he also loves his players.

“He builds up great relationships with his players and I think to work under him must be fantastic.”

Fairclough also feels that it was time that a club of Liverpool’s stature had someone like Klopp at the helm and believes the charismatic German is a perfect fit at Anfield.

“Liverpool have a huge reputation around the world and it is fitting that we have a manager that has charisma and has the undying belief of great many football people.”

Klopp won two Bundesliga titles with Dortmund but following an under par season, the 48-year-old left the club at end of the 2014/15 campaign.
