Germany coach Joachim Low has provided hope for Manchester United after he revealed earlier today that Bastian Schweinsteiger could be in contention for their game against Georgia tomorrow.

The Germany captain missed their 1-0 loss to the Republic of Ireland earlier this week with a thigh injury and was a major doubt for their game at the Red Bull Arena tomorrow.

However, Low has revealed that the midfielder has been building up his fitness and will join the final training session later this evening.

While he refused to confirm the Manchester United man’s selection, he added that after assessing his fitness, a final decision will be taken tomorrow.

The Germany coach was quoted as saying by German broadcaster Sport1: “The midfielder is doing some running exercises and will attend tonight’s final training session.

“A decision on his selection will be taken, but it is only possible tomorrow morning or evening.”

With Schweinsteiger seemingly in contention for selection for tomorrow, Manchester United will be hopeful that the midfielder will also be available for next weekend’s Everton trip.

It remains to be seen whether Louis van Gaal will be confident enough to field the Germany captain at Goodison Park or provide him more time to recover.
