Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admits that he is worried that Jurgen Klopp will do well at Liverpool.

The 48-year-old German signed a three-year contract on Thursday night to become the new manager at Liverpool. He replaced Brendan Rodgers who was sacked on Sunday following a string of poor performances.




There is a palpable sense of excitement at Anfield around Klopp’s arrival and the former two-time Bundesliga winner has already said that he wants to win the Premier League in the next four years.

Ferguson indicated that he is a fan of the former Borussia Dortmund coach and feels he has the personality to impose his style on the Liverpool squad.
 


He admits that as a Manchester United man he is worried that Klopp will do well on the red half of Merseyside.

[He is a] strong personality, very stubborn, very determined”, Ferguson said on ESPN.

“His career at Dortmund was stellar; I don’t like saying that and I am worried about it, but I think he will do very well at Liverpool.”

Klopp has brought his own backroom staff with him to Anfield and has already started preparations for Liverpool’s tough away trip to Tottenham next Saturday.
