Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has insisted that being dropped from the team was not a big problem and stressed that Jose Mourinho is still the best manager in the world.

Both Hazard and the Premier League champions have failed to recapture last season’s form and are struggling to get their campaign back on track.

Last season’s Player of the Year is a shadow of his former self this time around and his form has also coincided with Chelsea’s poor performances, where they have collected just eight points from as many league games.

While he conceded that his personal form coupled with Chelsea’s performances have not been great, he admits that he is failing to pin down on the reasons why things have not started well this season.

“I know it [my form] could be better”, Hazard was quoted as saying by Voetbal Krant.

“But I am not worried. Personally, it is not very good, but also the team have suffered a dip.”

When asked what is the reason behind his and Chelsea’s poor performances, the Belgian said: “Honestly? I do not know. For me it is the first time in my career. But is it not that normal in a football career? Sometimes you happen to fail.”

Hazard was dropped to the bench against FC Porto last month and he understands that the Chelsea boss was trying to convey a message to him. The Belgian still insists that despite the team’s poor performances, Mourinho remains the best manager in the world.

"I have no problems with that. Then it is my task to encourage the boys on the pitch.

“I think the coach in that way was trying to tell me something. He is still the best."
