Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has conceded that he is unsure about the extent of Manchester City playmaker David Silva’s injury.

The 29-year-old limped off the field after just ten minutes in Spain’s 4-0 win over Luxembourg last night, which booked their berth in next summer’s European Championship in France.

The Manchester City man went down under the challenge of Lars Krogh Gerson during the opening stages of the match and immediately signaled to the Spain physio that he was not fit enough to continue in the match.

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata replaced his Spain colleague for the rest of the game.

Spain striker Alvaro Morata also suffered an injury during the game and Del Bosque admits that he is unsure about the extent of the duo’s injuries.

He revealed that he is waiting for their medical team to properly assess the problems, before giving a timeline for their recovery period.

The Spain coach was quoted as saying by AS: "The worst part of tonight was the injuries.

“We're a bit worried. We'll see what the medical staff have to say.

“I do not know any details yet and until we know more, it's a worry – for both Silva and Morata.”

The international break hasn’t been kind to Manchester City as striker Sergio Aguero is expected to be out for a month with a hamstring injury he picked up during Argentina’s match earlier this week and now Silva’s injury has brought more bad news for Manuel Pellegrini.
