England and Arsenal striker Theo Walcott insists that he will be ready to perform any role he is asked to take up for his country.

The 26-year-old has been in prolific goalscoring form for his club, having managed four goals in the last seven matches. Walcott also found the back of the net twice for England during last month's 6-0 defeat of San Marino.




And, currenty on international duty for England, who beat Estonia 2-0 last night to continue their 100 per cent record in Euro 2016 qualifying with Walcott on the scoresheet, the striker insists that he is ready to take up any kind of role he is offered by manager Roy Hodgson.

"I’ll play anywhere for England", Walcott told the FA's official website.
 


"Everyone would like to see me up front, but if it’s on the right or the left, I can play in any of those positions."

The Arsenal player took time to speak about his excitement about wearing the England shirt in general, which he believes will give him the chance to impress while he is at the top of his form.

"I’m excited to be away with England, I feel good. And when players feel good it’s a great opportunity to give them a chance."

Speaking about the present Three Lions squad, Walcott added that the group has been special proving their mettle by remaining unbeaten so far.

“I’ve been around and experienced a lot of players coming in and out for England.

“Hopefully we can go 10 undefeated, which no other European country has done this year.

“We have to be proud of ourselves, every international game is difficult to play, so you’ve got to give credit to the guys.”
