Abou Diaby could be set to make his Marseille debut next weekend.

The midfielder was released by English giants Arsenal this summer after an injury plagued time at the Emirates Stadium and rejected an offer from West Brom to remain in the Premier League in order to join Marseille in his homeland.

But Diaby has yet to turn out for Marseille as he struggles to regain match fitness. The push may be approaching its end though as he is scheduled to resume training with the first team squad on Monday.

Marseille are now looking with increasing eagerness towards Diaby's debut for the club as they seek to justify their decision to sign the midfielder.

And according to Mediafoot, Diaby's debut could well come next weekend when Marseille take on Lorient.
