Yohan Cabaye says the France squad will support Olivier Giroud in a difficult moment and insists he knows all too well what it is like to be on the sidelines at club level.

Giroud is struggling to get into the team regularly at Arsenal, as Theo Walcott turns on the style to make the main striking spot his own.

For Giroud the situation is not helpful as he looks to cement a spot in the France team ahead of Euro 2016 to be held in his homeland next summer.

Cabaye knows what not playing is like as he struggled for minutes on the pitch with Paris Saint-Germain last season; he remedied his situation this summer by joining Crystal Palace.

"He must feel that we are there to encourage him and push him forward", the midfielder told L'Equipe, referring to Giroud.

"We're a team, a group, almost like a family. We won't let him down.

"We need to give our forwards confidence and Olivier needs to feel us behind him. If he plays against Denmark I hope he will score and do good things.

"He is a goalscorer and so even if he has a good game, but does not score, he won't be happy at the end", Cabaye added.

Giroud will want to use France's friendly against Denmark tonight to underline to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that he remains in good touch in front of goal.

The striker last scored for Arsenal on 26th September in a 5-2 win away at Leicester City. However, it was a game he did not start in as Walcott led the line and struck after just 18 minutes.
