Dimitri Payet Is Perfect Mentor, We Always Practice Together – West Ham Starlet

West Ham United starlet Martin Samuelsen has revealed that he is learning from Dimitri Payet, with whom he practices free-kicks after training.

Samuelsen curled in a superb free-kick while on Norway Under-18 duty at the weekend, striking against Latvia in a 2-0 win for his country.

Samuelsen was on the bench for West Ham during their famous win away at Anfield over Liverpool this season and is starting to make his presence felt around the first team group.

And he feels he is benefiting from working with the senior professionals at Upton Park, especially Payet, from whom he is learning the art of the perfect free-kick.

"I've been practicing and I practice a lot for after a foul", he told TV2.

"I often take free-kicks after training and there I have a good mentor in Dimitri Payet.

"He and I stand together after training and practice such things, so I have picked up something from him", the West Ham youngster added.

Payet only joined West Ham this summer, switching from French giants Marseille, and has had an instant impact at Upton Park.

The midfielder has won plaudits for his performances for Slaven Bilic's side and is already widely considered to be one of the buys of the season.
