Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana feels that the current season is an important one for him, insisting that the club will see the best of him if he manages to stay fit through the course of the campaign.

Lallana landed at Anfield from Southampton last summer and endured a difficult inaugural season in Merseyside as the Reds finished sixth in the league and could only manage to qualify for the Europa League.

The midfielder was plagued by several injuries through the course of the season, limiting his impact on Brendan Rodgers’ side.

This season, the 27-year-old has made seven appearances so far across all competitions – the Premier League, the League Cup and the Europa League – and has two goals to show for his efforts.

Liverpool have had a change of manager and will now be managed by Jurgen Klopp after removing Brendan Rodgers from the helm. And Lallana feels that the ongoing season will be pivotal for him.
