Chelsea linked forward Andriy Yarmolenko has insisted that he was unaware why Jose Mourinho was present for the Ukraine-Spain game last night.

There is speculation that Chelsea are interested in signing the Ukrainian forward in January and Mourinho was at the Olympic Stadium, with rumours circulating that he was on a scouting mission to watch Yarmolenko in action.

The forward has been continuously linked with a move away from Dynamo Kyiv since last summer, with Barcelona and Everton believed to be his main suitors.

But it has been suggested that Mourinho is keen to sign the 25-year-old in January to bolster his faltering Chelsea side and provide a new impetus to the team.

However, the forward was unaware that the Chelsea boss was in the crowd and insisted that he was only concentrating on the game against Spain.

Speaking to Korrespondent, the Ukrainian said: "Mourinho was at this game? I don't know what to say, how do I know why he came?

“I didn't know that he was at the game, I was thinking about something else – about the important game against Spain.

“Ask him who he was looking at."

Barcelona have maintained their interest in the player and are eyeing a January move. Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the Ukraine international.
