Jordan Ibe admits that former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been an important part of his career.

The Northern Irishman was sacked as Liverpool boss earlier this month and he was replaced by two-time Bundesliga winner and former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp.

The former Liverpool boss gave the England Under-21 international his break in the senior team and made him an important part of his first team squad at Anfield last season.

“It’s a shame [about Rodgers], because he was an important man in my career”, Ibe told the club’s official website.
