Manchester City starlet Pablo Maffeo has said that the club’s reserves’ manager Patrick Vieira is an inspiration for the youngsters at the club.

During his playing career, Vieira turned out for Arsenal from 1996 until 2005 and was integral member of the fabled “Invincibles” of the 2003/04 season, when the Gunners won the Premier League going unbeaten through the whole season.




The former France international also went on to win the World Cup in 1998 and the European Championship in 2000 with Les Bleus.

Vieira last played club football for the Citizens from 2010 until 2011 and has been managing the Manchester City reserves since 2013.
 


Maffeo, who has been playing for the youth squads of Manchester City since he signed for the Citizens in 2013, has heaped praise on Vieira, terming him a great person and a top manager.

“Patrick is a top manager, a great person – he’s laughing with you but at the same time he wants more and more from you – he’s a great inspiration for us all”, the youngster was quoted as saying by his club’s site.

Maffeo has progressed rapidly at the youth academy of the Manchester giants and will be keen to break into the first team soon.
