West Ham United midfielder Alex Song is itching to achieve full fitness and start playing for the Hammers soon, saying that the team are playing the kind of football he enjoys.

The Hammers have brought in the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet in the summer transfer window and the duo have been effective for the side as they sit fourth in the league standings at the conclusion of the first nine rounds of games.




Song, who spent the last season on loan from Barcelona at Upton Park, is back for another loan stint, but he hasn’t been able to feature yet due to injury concerns.

And the 28-year-old has revealed that he itching to get back into action and start playing with his Hammers' team-mates.
 


“Yes, I am! I am looking forward a lot to coming back to play alongside Lanzini, Payet, [Mark] Noble, Cheikhou [Kouyate], Diaf [Diafra Sakho] and the whole squad!”, he was quoted as saying by his club’s site.

“I am very happy to be here and see them play that way.

“I want to come back and for us to enjoy our football together.”

The Hammers will be up against reigning English champions Chelsea in their next league fixture this weekend at Upton Park.
