Former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen on taking Radamel Falcao to Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg.

Falcao is currently on a season-long loan at Chelsea from Monaco, but has struggled to command regular first team football with Diego Costa ahead of him in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Talk has swirled that Falcao is looking to quit Chelsea in the winter transfer window, despite Jose Mourinho insisting he has heard nothing from the player about an exit.

According to One World Sports, Villas-Boas is keen on taking Falcao to Russia on a half-season loan when the winter window opens.

Chelsea would have to agree to terminate the Colombian's loan in order for him to be free to link up with Zenit for the latter half of the campaign.

Whether Mourinho will be willing to allow Falcao to leave remains to be seen and could be dependent upon his ability to sign a replacement for the striker.

Falcao spent last term on loan at Manchester United, but failed to make an impression at Old Trafford and the Red Devils opted not to look to keep him at the club.
