Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has revealed his pride at the progress made by Al Ahli's academy over the last few years.

Cavalhal’s work at Wednesday has been lauded and he recently scripted a famous League Cup win over Arsenal, when his team thrashed the Premier League outfit 3-0 at Hillsborough.

However, before he arrived in England, the former Sporting Lisbon and Besiktas boss was the technical director at Dubai-based outfit Al Ahli’s youth academy.

He took charge of their academy towards the end of 2013 and his work during his stint in the Middle East was widely praised, as he revamped the youth system of the Dubai club.

Al Ahli’s academy has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years and is now considered one of the best in the region. Carvalhal is proud of the work he did in the Middle East and revealed his delight at the progress of their academy.
