On loan AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli is waiting for Liverpool to green light his groin surgery, as he looks to fix a long standing injury problem.

The Reds shipped out the mercurial striker to AC Milan on a season-long loan deal and contrary to expectations, the Italian has impressed on his return to the Rossoneri this season.




However, the forward has been laid low with a groin injury and has been out of action for AC Milan since the end of September. It has been suggested that the club and the player have decided conduct surgery on his problematic groin to fix the issue.

According to Italian daily Corriere della Sera, everything is in place for Balotelli to undergo the surgery, but he is still waiting for Liverpool to give their approval, as they are still his parent club.
 


The Reds are expected to provide their green signal and the player will soon undergo the surgery in the hopes of finding a permanent remedy for his groin injury.

The forward is expected to be out of action for more than a month after the surgery but both AC Milan and Balotelli are unwilling to linger with the injury and are keen for the operation to happen.

The 25-year-old striker scored a goal against Udinese and was praised for his performances before he was ruled out of action because of his groin trouble.
