A number of Serie A clubs are interested in signing Arsenal linked defender Daniele Rugani from Juventus in January.

The 21-year-old defender was on Arsenal’s radar in the summer and Juventus had to fight hard to keep the young Italian away from the clutches of the Gunners. Arsene Wenger's men have since been linked with lining up a fresh attempt for the defender in the winter transfer window.

Despite the defender snubbing interest from England, he has been nothing less than a spectator for the Bianconeri this season and has played just two minutes of football in the first few months of the campaign.

The youngster is claimed to be frustrated with the situation at Juventus and it has been suggested that move away from the club in January is being seriously considered by the player.

Rugani remains a highly rated defender in Italy and according to Italian daily Tuttosport, clubs such as Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Napoli are keen to sign him during the winter transfer window to bolster their rearguard.

However, it is unclear whether they want to sign him on loan or look to secure him on a permanent contract from the Italian champions in January.

Juventus are unlikely to agree on permanent deal, but could be willing to send him out on loan if Massimiliano Allegri fails to provide him with an adequate amount of football in the next few months.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal re-enter the picture if Rugani expresses an interest in starting his career afresh at a new club in January.
