Roma are pushing to put a deal in place to sign young Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson as they fret about potentially losing Wojciech Szczesny in the summer.

Szczesny is on a season-long loan at Roma from Arsenal and the Italian club's sporting director Walter Sabatini recently struck a pessimistic note about keeping hold of the Poland international.

The Giallorossi do not want to be left short and are now targeting Internacional goalkeeper Alisson.

They have made an initial offer of €5.5m to sign the shot-stopper, but have seen it turned down, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

The 23-year-old, a product of Internacional's youth system, has been tipped for big things and broke through to the club's senior side in 2013.
