Laurent Blanc’s contract renewal talks with Paris Saint-Germain are progressing well, according to French daily Le Parisien.

Blanc, whose present contract with PSG is set to expire next summer, took charge of the club in 2013.

The Frenchman has since guided the club to two Ligue 1 titles, one Coupe de France, two League Cups and three French Super Cups.

The 50-year-old’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes and PSG’s sporting director Olivier Letang held a long and fruitful meeting in Paris earlier in the month; and it seems the French champions are satisfied with Blanc’s performance and are keen to offer him a fresh two-year deal, which will keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2018.

However, despite guiding PSG to numerous domestic trophies, Blanc is yet to taste success on the European front, as his side have been eliminated from the quarter-final stage of the Champions League in their last two campaigns.

But it has been claimed in France that Blanc’s new deal will not be dependent upon any targets being met.
