Juan Mata admits he was impressed with the way Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta made football look simple in the weekend's El Clasico.

Iniesta helped Barcelona outplay Real Madrid in their own backyard, running out 4-0 winners as Los Blancos were taken apart.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring for Barcelona in just the eleventh minute, before Neymar made it 2-0 in the 39th minute.

Real Madrid were expertly killed off in the 53rd minute when Iniesta struck, while Suarez then claimed his second of the game in the 74th minute.

Mata was watching on with interest and was impressed with Neymar. However, he was also taken by Iniesta, who he feels was superb throughout.

The Manchester United midfielder wrote on his blog: "I have to emphasise the Spanish derby where Barcelona, playing at a really high level, beat Real Madrid 0-4 with goals from Suarez (two), Neymar and Iniesta, who is a joy to watch play at that level.

"Even the Bernabeu, in an elegant gesture, applauded him when he was substituted after his display.

"To make the right decisions always and to make football look so easy is not an easy task, and Andres does it", Mata added.

Barcelona's win over Real Madrid means they have opened up a six-point lead over their arch rivals at the top of La Liga. However, Atletico Madrid are second, with Real Madrid third, and only four points off the Catalans.
