Bayern Munich have suffered an injury scare ahead of their Champions League group stage encounter against second placed Olympiacos. Versatile defender David Alaba is a doubt for the clash having sustained an ankle injury in the 3-1 away win over Schalke on Saturday.

The Austrian had opened the scoring for his side in the 9th minute after his deflected shot found its way past the goalkeeper.

However, the 23-year-old had to be withdrawn in the 83rd minute after he injured his ankle following a foul.

According to the club’s official website, team doctor Dr Volker Braun assessed the injury to the left-back on Sunday and a decision over the participation of Alaba depends on his recovery ahead of tomorrow’s clash.

The Bavarians, who currently sit at the top of Group F, level on points with Olympiacos, are ahead based on a much superior goal difference and will be looking to edge closer to qualification with a win over the Greek side.
