Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson feels Jurgen Klopp is already making the Reds look like Borussia Dortmund at their peak, following the club’s 4-1 thrashing of Manchester City at the weekend.

The former Dortmund boss, who spent seven seasons with BVB, took charge of Liverpool last month.

During his stint at Signal Iduna Park, Klopp guided the club to two Bundesliga titles and also helped them to reach a Champions League final.

BVB were a great pressing side under Klopp, and Lawrenson thinks the German has already managed to successfully implement his ideas at Anfield.

The former defender further lauded Klopp for the manner in which the Merseyside giants totally outplayed Manchester City in their own backyard.

“That's by far has been the best we have been all season and I would say it was probably akin to Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund at their best”, Lawrenson said on LFC TV.

“He has been here six weeks, and to come up with a performance like that is simply outstanding.

"And to make Manchester City look so ordinary on their home ground took some doing.”

Klopp, who witnessed his first loss as Liverpool boss before the international break, a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, has had good results against big clubs.

Under his guidance, the Reds drew with Tottenham, while they won tough fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City.
